Fundraising Goals

My goal is to raise $100,000.00 for Children’s Hospital by September 10th, 2010. This will be accomplished by building a large audience of 5000 readers (fans) who are inspired to donate a micro-payment of (at least) $20.00 directly to Children’s Hospital. The total goal will be surpassed, or the micro-payment amount will be reduced, if 5% of readers solicit their employers to make a donation of $500 or more.

Metrics

  • Individual Micro-Payment Request: $20 or more
  • Corporate Donation Request: $500 or more
  • Total Corporate Donors: 250
  • Total Individual Donors: 5000

Deliverable

Jack Morris will walk over 3000 miles and write a daily blog account of his experience across the country. In addition to a daily blog; Facebook, Twitter and Youtube will be included to add real-time information and additional value. By the end of the walk, 4 ½ months will have passed, 140 blog entries will be written and over 2000 pictures/videos posted.

Dear Mr Morris: What a great cause and venture you have undertaken. My own daughter was nearly sent to Seattle when she was born a preemie and I know first hand what great help child doctors and especially NICU nurses can be.
I would love to help with fund raising and have a concept that may help, not only with present fund raising , but with continued proceeds as well.
Duting 9/11 we were able to print and sell over 5000 tee shirts and raise about $10,000 for the local Red Cross effort. I would propose using the same idea to help raise funds for your effort. We can have protype shirts made in 5-6 days and can produce as many as needed to sell. This is a great way to not only raise money but also for those who support the cause to physically show their support.
I can be reached at the above e-mail with questions. Best of luck and welcome to Montana.

Jack, if you made out tee-shirts, I would buy one. Like Mr. Schumacher, I have had a close relationship with SCH and they saved my life in 1989 when I was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. Good luck on all of your efforts. This is a cause well worth walking for.

Enjoy Montana, my home and hopefully somewhere you will grow to love,

  2. Kevin,

Jack and I discussed selling tee shirts just prior to kicking off his walk, I actually put together a rough design. However, he started walking shortly thereafter & he’s been doing that ever since =). That being the case, Jack asked that I reach out to you to discuss your offer to help. brginc@live.com

Jack- holy cow – I am so proud of you – the only disappointment – that you give me a heads up so I could get YOU a pizza on your way through Msla.! I am away from home right now – but would LOVE to do something to support you – let me know if I can help with tshirt design – and i will donate before Sept. 10th. What is next?
